Can't upgrade IE

I posted this problem a few days ago but I can't find it
to see if anyone was able to help me. So , can somebody
email me if they have an answer? Please? The problem: I
had to have my pc re partitioned and re formatted I have
always used the IE6 with my 98SE but for some reason my pc
won't let me instal it I can't instal norton or do other
things because everything requires IE5 or higher and
apparently mine is lower. I keep getting "Setup was unable
to install All components close all apps & try running
setup again." then when I click help I get "It appears you
have the correct setup files, but the insolation
failed...Close other programs & try running again. Then it
says if this keeps happenning contact product support msn.
THATS about a joke, so that is why I am here, hoping there
is someone who knows something. Please email me at

That's because you are using the MS-CDO web page interface and posted under
the pseudoname Anonymous@ etc. etc. with the subject: NEED MAJOR
HELP!!!!!PLEEZE!!! on Thursday, June 24, 2004 6:59 PM (MDT. Adjust for your
local time)

Unfortunately there isn't a full solution to your problem, but if we could
keep this in *one* thread, we could maybe work something out. Also, if you
