I'm trying to export the result of a select query from Access 97 to Excel 97,
using TransferSpreadsheet. The select query is based on a single table. I
get an error "Can't update. Database or object is read-only." I don't have
any ideas on what to check--the database is not opened in read-only mode,
nothing that I can see is read-only. I add/delete/modify data within the
database without any problem.
I think in the past I have sometimes gotten around this "read-only" error by
changing the query to a make table and exporting the table--but in this case
I get the same error.
If I look under File \ Database properties from within Access with the
database open, the Attributes choices are all greyed out, but "Archive" is
the only one checked.
I have a feeling the problem isn't truly a "read-only" problem, but if it
is, what should I ask our IT folks (I'm on a work computer) in order to fix
the problem?
