can't uninstall...

I have reinstalled my win2000 OS, but let it reinstall on
a hard drive partition called D: (which perhaps was a
mistake). I didn't actually want it on D:, so I have since
reformatted, deleted partitions and reinstalled on C:
However, on startup, I am presented with a choice of which
of 2 installations to start (but the second isn't really
there - if I try to start it, it gives an error message
about drive configuration). I can't seem to get rid of
this bogus second installation, and I have some other
configuration problems (relating to connecting to remote
servers) that I now suspect may be due to this (because I
think I have eliminated avery other possible cause)

Any suggestions as to how I get rid of the bogus
installation ( I have reformatted and reinstalled several
times)

thanks

all you have to do is remove the unwanted entry in boot.ini

but i don;t see how it could have been there if you formatted the drive
first
