I just added a Seagate 80 Gig hard drive. I then started installing the
software for it wihich is Bounce Back. For some reason it install part of
the program and then I hit YES to make the external drive the back-up drive
and it froze up. I tried again and it said it froze up again. The icon is
there but when I open it, I get an error message NO NON VERSION BACKUP FOUND
WOULD YOU LIKE TO VIEW YOUR BACKEDUPED ITEMS. I can then hit yes or no and
then it just returns to the desktop. I went to programs, then to bounce
back, clicked the UNINSTALL and it froze up. I then went to Control Panel,
add/remove programs, highlighted Bounce Back, clicked REMOVE and it froze up
again. I tried the RESTORE but it will not restore to a time before
installation. I tried RESTORE to a time before I even added the Seagate
Drive but I get a message saying that any programs added after Drive J
(seagate) would not be removed because the drive was not shown. HOW DO I
GET THIS SOFTWARE OFF OF MY COMPUTER? Also, does anyone know why this
happened. I think maybe that my cdrom drive is not working right since I
have been having trouble with it.
PLEASE HELP

You'll need to manually remove it. This will involve locating the program
details in the system registry AND later you will delete the directory where
the files reside. 1. Please ensure you create a restore point BEFORE
proceding. You should make certain this function is turned on.
2. Go to Start, choose Run and type regedit
3. Open the HKey_Current_User section by pressing the plus sign to the left
of the key.
4. Open the software section and scroll until you locate the name of the
program Bounce Back then delete the entire key and contents. (press delete
on the keyboard while the key is highlighted).
5. Do the same in HKey_Local_Machine.
6. Lastly if you want to make sure it's all gone you can use the find
function and search for the words Bounce Back and delete ONLY the items
you're certain are related.
NEXT
Delete the directory from your hard drive as follows:
1. Open My Computer
2. Go to Program Files on your operating systems drive
3. Click once on the Bounce Back folder and hit delete on your keyboard

you can edit the registry again to remove the bounce back listing from the
control panel's list of programs available for uninstalling.

The software might not be suitable to Windows XP and is possibly for earlier
operating systems? XP is backward compatible, but only to a certain point.
You should do a thorough virus scan with the latest virus updates installed
on your PC.
