I am trying to upgrade my Outlook Backup program (an add-
in from MS).
When I try to install, it says I must uninstall the
previous version - which it then tries to do. However,
due to an error (mine), the previous files were deleted
several months ago.
I have used add/remove programs - which removed it from
the installed list.
I have tried to use Outlook to remove the add-in (it is
not listed).
I have done a file search for 'outbak' 'pfbackup' 'outlook
backup' and removed all files with these names.
I have done a regedit, removing every reference
to 'outbak,' 'pfbackup,' and 'outlook backup.'
Still I get the error message - with a twist. It tries to
uninstall, then I get a message from Windows Installer
that says "This action is only valid for products that
are currently installed."
Evidently I am missing at least one reference. Any ideas
on how to make XP Pro realize the program is no longer
installed??
Thanks!
