We have a GPO in our network that redirects the user's desktop from
C:\documents.... to a shared drive. Well after I installed the MS
antispyware, I was asked about giving permission to make changes to the
desktop/user shell... I guess I said 'no'. Now I can't get my real desktop
back and whenever I try to enter a manual address in IE or open up Windows
Explorer, I always get a popup message first that says
"\\server\%username%\Desktop is not accessible", which is our GPO redirect.
Then it lets me proceed as normal, though I still don't get my desktop.
What I'd like to do is just undo the setting by AS to block that. If I open
it and go into Real-time Protection, I see it listed as an Agent Event. It
says:
User Shell Folders alert (The UserShellFolder & Desktop and has been denied
permission to be changed. This setting folder has been blocked by the
user......
But unlike the other screen in AS, this one has no Undo/Revoke/Remove
feature. So how can I undo this decision?
