I have a new laptop running VISTA Home Premium. My home network consists of
3 PCs running Win XP Pro, 1 PC running win 2000 Pro and a laptop running Win
XP Pro. All of the older w/s can map to the rest of the w/s using UNC
mapping with admin user name and password. I can not get the VISTA laptop to
connect to the rest of the network w/s using UNC mapping. I get the message
Cannot connect to the drive location. I use the diagnose feature and it
states that the drive is already mapped on this w/s by a different user. Any
ideas on this issue? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Robert, Thanks for the reply. Net use shows no entries at this time. None
in history. What next?

Robert, I can't see the share point and get a system 5 error. What is a
system 5 error?

It could be firewall or permission issue. have you checked this link?

System Errors2. when using net view \\hostname, you may receive "System
error 5 has occurred. Access is denied.". However, net view \\ip works fine.

Robert, I created a new user account on the VISTA laptop with admin
privilages and the sane user name as the other PCs on the network have. This
did not help map the drive as required. Now I get a message the states the
\\workstation\sharepoint does not exist. I am get very frustrated with
VISTA. Maybe it is time to sell my 6500 shares in MS.
