cant type anything

hi, i am having some problems with internet explorer.
everytime i try and type something either in the address
bar or in a form or search engine, it always seems to
crash. it comes up with the message box: do you wish to
notify microsoft of this problem. then it closes down the
browser.

i am using IE6 on Microsoft windows XP professional.

can any one help?

Do you get better results if you add the http://www.... protocol. If yes
then definitely a parasite.
