Hey all,
Since i d/l the sp2 for xp, the popup blocker has been teh bain of my
existence. Though it has blocked popups quite well, I can't turn off the
obnoxious sound. I turned it off in the tools menu, and i even went ot the
sounds portion of the control panel and turned it off there, but still, it
keeps doing the obnoxious drop noise. Anyone, please help,
Thanks,
Jason

Are you sure you don't have a second popup blocker installed that is
making noise? Perhaps the one on the Google Toolbar or one from your
ISP?

No, because I can't see your computer from here. Surf with Task Manager
open and see what programs are running. There was no popup blocker in
XP prior to SP2, so when you say "it never made any noise" perhaps you
have another popup blocker you've forgotten about. Maybe your Internet
connection software is making noise. Maybe you have a firewall/security
program like Norton Internet Security. If you still can't figure it
out, have a knowledgeable friend come over and take a look. Sometimes a
fresh pair of eyes will pick up on a problem's cause immediately.

Good luck,

Malke
