can't transfer Outlook contacts to Windows Mail

1) Can't seem to export Outlook contacts (windows XP). The export button is
greyed out. Why is this?
2)Tried to copy WAB file (Windows XP) over to Windows Mail but that doesn't
work either.
3)Which part of the Windows Transfer programme contains the list of
addresses to be transferred? During the transfer I may have omitted to
select the corresponding file from the list of choices.

Outlook doesn't use the WAB file, it keeps its contacts in the PST file it
is using. The standard instruction is to export Outlook's contacts as a CSV
file. Windows Contacts can import that.
