I never turned it on, but Word always doubles spaces lines after ENTER
In Format|Paragraphs it's off, always been on
It does it in all Views
It's like typing HTML
How can I make it stop????

The normal style has 10pt after as part of the paragraph formatting as
standard. Change the default paragraph formatting Space After to zero.

Nope, that's not it. Not set for that.
It behaves like an HTML editor. An ENTER creates the double space and
Shift|ENTER creates a single line space.

It is definitely paragraph formatting. Check Space Before, Space After and
Line Spacing settings: they should be on ZERO not Auto. Make sure you press
DEFAULT and save any changes.

0 Pt.,0 Pt., and Single Line Spacing

Never have changed them

Would you like to email the document to me as an attachment and I'll take a
look at it.
