In the mean time, they might try the following: Locations may differ with

Most versions of Windows will have an option that will disconnect the
computer from the Internet after a certain amount of time the system has
been idle while on the Internet. This is referred to as the Idle Disconnect
feature. When this occurs, the system will bring up a warning to let you
know that "the connection has been idle for X amount of time, would you like
to stay online" and then give you the option to stay connected or
disconnect. While this can be a nifty feature, many find this to be a
nuisance. Here's how to disable this feature:
Click Start>Settings>Control Panel
Double-click Internet or Intenet Options icon
Go to Tools>Internet Options>Connection tab>Settings
In the next window that comes up, look for "Dial-up settings"
Click Advanced>Uncheck "Disconnect if idle for......".
Click OK
and...
Go to IE Tools>Internet Options>Connection>Dial-up Settings>Advanced
Make sure that "Disconnect when connection may no longer be required" is
Unchecked, and that the option to "Disconnect if idle" is also Uncehcked.
Later Windows versions have an option to "Disconnect when connection speed
drops below a certain percentage" Uncheck that one.
Hope this helps
