can't start your application Access 97

When I start Access 97 sr 2, I get this error message;

"can't start your application. The work group info file is missing or open exclusively by an other user"


Can you help please?

How are you starting the application - via a desktop shortcut? Is the mdb
secured? If so, check that the workgroup file specified in the shortcut
exists.

If it isn't secured, then search your computer for *.mdw. Do you find one
called system.mdw; where is it located?

Thanks for reply. the System.mdw file is in c:\windows\syste

this PC has win 95 and Office 9

Thanks for your help, I went into the Registry and found the key stating the mdw was not there or was in a path which was nonsense. I corrected that and all is now working.
