Anthony,
Start here:
Problems with OrgChart
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00023.htm

If that (or the FAQ entries it points to) doesn't help, post back with the
exact error message and we can try more stuff.

Hmm.....still getting Server Application errors....

I am not running any antivirus (apparently Norton has issues w/ powerpoint)
and attempted to upgrade to the service pack 2 (sp2upd.exe) and that would
not install. - but the Program says sp-3 (Under help w/i PowerPoint) - go
figure

MS Q189692 did not help for I am running Powerpoint 2000

But I did run all the Office 2000 upgrades ( via MS automated Upgrade
site)...but still not able to open the organizational charts in Powerpoint

I am running windows XP on a 2200 AMD/1 gig machine....

Problematic to say the least - help please

This is a security issue. I am psuedo-sysadmin at a vocational school
and have had the same problem on some new XP Professional machine
(running Office2K). If I give the users administrative privileges
OrgChart works fine, but if they are a Limited User they get the erro
message that started this thread. I am still looking for a solution t
this problem (just noticed it yesterday). If I find one, I'll try t
remember to post here.

Hello Ranger,
(running Office2K). If I give the users administrative privileges,
OrgChart works fine, but if they are a Limited User they get the error
message that started this thread. I am still looking for a solution to
this problem (just noticed it yesterday).

The workaround for this problem is documented in the Microsoft knowledge
base:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;218571&Product=ofw

It's not elegant but it works.

Office 2002 and 2003 no longer include Microsoft Organization Chart 2.0 (a
utility created by another company) for many reasons (this being just one
of them).

Thanks, John. I found this link independently a couple of hours ago, but
thanks for the post. Hopefully, I can convince the powers-that-be to
upgrade our Office Suite to XP, or God forbid, 2003. That would be a
glorious day, but I'm probably just dreaming. Thanks again, John.
