WIN-XP-Pro - after surfing and closing out all windows, I try to disconnect
off of ADSL. Program ending comes up for it but doesn't really end it so I
'end it now.' Usually after that occurs, I shut down the computer but it
hangs on 'saving your settings' and I have to press the power button to turn
it off. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

try spybot at safer-networking.org ,update ,scan on easy
and see if there is any spyware. something must want the
connection on still. also free antivirus at grisoft.com in
downloads. if you don't got any antivirus and then scan for
the latest trojans that could cause an email server to run
spam. as the saying goes. if your dsl outgoing lights are
flashing and you know nothing is supposed to going on the
net ,then you gotta find the program responsible.
