Can't show photos (or web content) on my desktop.

No matter how many times I go through display properties -> desktop->
customize -> web and add/check items in my list, nothing ever appears on
my desktop. What's up? I'm using xp pro on this machine.

What happens if you right click an open
image file and from the menu...choose...
"Set As Desktop Background"...

Just guessing, but I wonder if the following
article would offer anything useful:
