I have been using OE. Want to use Outlook (it's 2003). I go to Start,
Programs, Office, click on Outlook. Small window: "Configuring Outlook
Accounts." Under that: "Creating welcome message." Error message comes
up:
The connection to Microsoft Server is unavailable. Outlook must be onlie
or
connected to complete this action. Clicked OK. Another window:
"Microsoft
Exchange Server." Within this window: --I.D.'s my computer and -- gives
user name (me). Checked name. Window: "Once names have been checked and
are
underlined click OK. Clicked OK. Last window: "The name could not be
resolved. The connection to the Microsoft Exchange server is unavailable.
Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action."
I will settle for resolving this issue which my ISP tried to help me with:
When clicking on a link in OE the page appears BEHIND OE and I have to
minimize OE to view the linked page. Also, when trying to switch
identities
OE allows me to successfully do this one out of ten times. Obviously, OE
also 2003.

State what you have done up until now. A new installation of Outlook does
not do this unless you changed something. You appear to have configured
Outlook with a transport that is not valid. What did you do? Specify your
Outlook version when you post a question.

I have tried and tried to set up Outlook but always get the following
(paraphrased): "Setting up Welcome." When that goes away, it says,
"Can't
find server. Must be connected to Internet." Then, "Checking name."
It
just won't work. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you,
