Can't set the margins I want

Using paper that is 4" X 6" I am unable to set 0.3" right and left margins .
Office Assistant window pops up telling me, "Settings you choose for the left
and right margins, column spacing, or paragraph intendt are too large for the
page width in some sections." Only margins have been set.; no column spacing
or paragraph indents, yet I am unable to set the margins. Please, if you
know how to correct the prblem, let me know. Thank you.

Office application (I'm not SURE you are using Word)?

Version?

Using a "page layout" pop-up, dragging margins on a ruler or inserting a
text box? Setting paper size in the "page layout" pop-up?

Is it possible it's your printer driver complaining about too narrow
margins? Is it supposed to be able to print all the way to all four
edges of the sheet?

Tried inquiring in groups like:
microsoft.public.word.pagelayout
microsoft.public.word.newusers
microsoft.public.windowsxp.print_fax
?

You receive an error message when you change a document that is formatted
for columns in Word
