I have a printer (HP610c - MS drivers) attached to W2k Pro,shared. When set
printing quality to Concept/Greyscale it works as it should.

On WXP Home on the network it prints normal quality even though it is set to
Concept/Greyscale.

Is there some way to force WXP to print Concept/Greyscale?

There are two DeviceMode settings. One that is specific to the print queue
and that everyone will download when they connect to the share. The other
DeviceMode is for the User and it resides on the client. The initial
setting for the user DevMode is the same as the shared DevMode.

On the system that shares the device, open Printer / Properties / Advanced /
Printing Defaults. On the client, the user DevMode can be located by
selecting the connection, Printer / Properties / General / Printing
Preferences. The DevMode that the user sends with the printjob will be the
setting that the printer responds to.

May i force clients to use certain DevMode on my shared printer? The
setting in Printer / Properties / General / Printing
Preferences was set to Concept/Greyscale and it prints prod. quality anyway.
