My XP machine with a Toshiba cable modem PCX2200 and McAfee firewall running
will not communicate with anyother computer. I was able to communicate
earlier but now when I attempt to communicate with my brother he get an
error message that says my system is having a problem. I have installed the
latest MSN messenger then uninstalled the latest Window Messenger 5 with
still no results. I have went through the tuning method where everything
test out great, but as soon as I try to connect with my brother system I
don't get any activation of my microphone like I did when I was doing the
testing. Can anyone give me some recommendation to attempt to get a voice
and video working again? I know my video cam works, I also know my
microphone works but I just can't get out from behind I think my firewall or
my Toshiba cable modem I think? Thanks

First go to search at microsoft.com,type:windows messenger,go to home
page, select 4.7 and run the download in "open" mode.
When using a mic do you R.click the speaker next to the clock, properties,
make sure the mic box is checked, also are you using instant message with
youre contact.
