Can't send or receive e-mail

I'll begin with a disclaimer: I am only barely computer literate. Here
goes: I have just purchased a new laptop with Vista. I use Godaddy for my
e-mail. I set up Windows Mail, but when I try to check or send e-mail, I
get the message:

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'smtp.secureserver.net', Server:
'smtp.secureserver.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket
Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

Someone told me that it could be my antivirus (I use Norton 360) and told me
I should turn off the e-mail scanning because Godaddy will scan all
messages. I turned it off and tried to send and receiver mail, and got this
message:

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'smtp.secureserver.net',
Server: 'smtp.secureserver.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No,
Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong.

The incoming mail server name is not correct. The server names are:
Incoming (POP3) server: pop.secureserver.net
Outgoing (SMTP) server: smtpout.secureserver.net
Check your email account settings with these instructions:
