can't send or receive e-mail in outlook 2000

my OS is MSXL and i've been using OE as my default mail handler, i also have
outlook 2000 installed on my system because of MS office 2000 pro but didn't
activate mail or internet account in outlook because i was using OE...Today I
decided i wished to use outlook as my default e-mailer, setup internet
connection, imported account from OE, changed settings in IE and outlook,
disabled OE as mail handler, restarted system, tried to receive and send mail
via outlook but nothing happens when i press the send and receive
button....any suggestions?
 
Hi,

Just to check if there are messages on the server, try sending a test email
to yourself. Check if we get any error messages.
