I have not been able to send messages using Windows Mail since I got this new
laptop with Vista. I have checked and double checked settings. I have
deleted Norton and am now using AVG. I can't seem to get the program to
work. Please help.

You might try to remove the account and enter a new one.

Post the complete error message here.

Sorry, forgot to put the error I received when attempting to send messages:

The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Fw: One for the Ladies',
Account: 'Heather Vela', Server: 'SMTP.TOPCONIN.COM', Protocol: SMTP, Port:
25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I found the problem - thanks for your help. Just so you and everyone else
know, I was using Cingular Wireless card and the server of my e-mail could
not connect to the port 25 due to spam controls on Cingular. I had to change
my outgoing mail server to cwmx.com. Now mail send like a charm. Thanks
again for the quick response.

Good news! Thanks for the feedback.
