I have windows mail. I have had no problems with this until today. No
changes or downloads have been made recently. I am able to receive email, but
now cannot send them. They simply stay in the outbox. I can delete all but
the first one. When I try to delete it, I get a message that there is an
unknown error. There is also a message that "the message could not be
displayed". and "Windows Mail encountered an unexpected problem while
displaying this message. Check your computer for low memory or low disk space
and try again.". and " That is all that happens. I have Vista ultra.

Please help,

Brian

I already downloaded that update to no avail. Plus your response was rude.
Another member recommended I try windows live mail and that worked. Go give
someone else the wrong advice.

Most Windows Mail problems can be 'fixed' by switching to a
different email program; however, a lot of users prefer to try
the less drastic fixes before they switch programs.

The fix I recommended is the standard fix for the symptoms
you presented. That said, there is nothing wrong with switching
to Windows Live Mail, and I use it myself.

Hi, Brian.

Gary's answer was not wrong and not rude. He was just tired from having
posted the same answer to the same question several times every day for over
six months. We all are tired of answering the same old question over and
over when the answer is so easy to find. We are volunteers; we don't work
for Microsoft; nobody pays us to do this; we are just users - like you - who
have learned some answers and try to pass them on. We didn't create the
"mail stuck in the Outbox" problem but we have helped hundreds (thousands?)
of people who could easily have found all those previous answers by simply
scanning a few of the prior message threads here.

And the answer was not wrong because it has worked for almost all of those
people who asked for help previously. If it didn't work for you, maybe you
didn't apply it properly. You might want to try the original version of the
fix, from MVP Steve Cochran (it's free):
http://www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/Default.aspx

Windows Live Mail is better (in my opinion) than Windows Mail, even though
it is still in beta, not yet officially supported, and subject to changes
before its final release, which we hope will be in (early?) 2008. In the
meantime, WM is still the official mail application and still being
delivered with every copy of Vista. So we will continue to see that same
question asked and answered here daily for some time to come, I'm afraid.
:>(

Speaking of rude, please remember to say "Thank you" to people who are
trying to help you.
