When I am sending an email and I change the "from" field
to a different email user on my network and I get the
message: Sending report error (0x800ccc6e)the server
responded: 553 you are not authorized to send mail
as "xxxxxxxxxx" (another user's email address).

In summary, what I am trying to do is send an email for
another person (using there email address in the "from"
field and I get the above message.

Thanks,

Veep

You can't just put someone else's e-mail address into the From field and
have it send properly from your mail account :-) You would need to set up
that person's e-mail account in your copy of Outlook and then use that
account to send with. Even then, you wouldn't use the From field -- you'd
use a button on the toolbar in a new message window to choose the sending
account. What version of Outlook are you using, and if 98 or 2000, what
mail support mode? If you're not sure, look at the second line of Help |
About Microsoft Outlook -- it should say "Internet Mail Only" or
"Corporate/Workgroup". (Outlook 97, 2002, and 2003 don't have separate
modes.)
