Here's the error message I get--

"The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject 'test',
Account: 'imap.aol.com', Server: 'smtp.aol.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server
Response: '550 ACCESS DENIED', Port: 587, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550,
Error Number: 0x800CCC78"

Please help--Thanks

It looks odd to me that you are trying to use a Netscape email id
through AOL servers.

at that page but I still can not send email using the windows mail. I have no
problem with my email if I sign in at mail.netscape.com

Make sure all your settings agree with this:
http://www.postmaster.aol.com/imap/express.html
especially the "My server requires authentication" check box.

Are you the same person as the "Myron" who started this thread?
If not, could you give us a copy of the error message you get?

Perhaps AOL is not providing SMTP service for netscape.net subscribers.
