can't send email????

What in the world does this mean?

"The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Gift certificate ',
Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'mail.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP,
Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E"


I just set up my windows mail and obviously did some thing wrong. I don't
know what or where to go to fix it

Call your ISP/Mail service provider and ask them to walk you through the
mail setup process..
 
Your settings look OK, but Comcast allows using port 587 instead of
port 25, which sometimes works better.
Go to Tools, Accounts, select the Comcast account, Properties,
Advanced. Change the port number from 25 to 587.
Also, under the Servers tab, make sure "My server requires
authentication" is checked.

If this did not fix the problem, post the latest error message, and
tell us which antivirus program you are using.

The instructions are for Outlook Express but they work for Windows Mail.
 
I'm really upset, i brought geeks quad they came 4 times what a waste of a
time ,when i would like a geek squad tech over they play there games ,plus
comcast tech came over switch to google .what the hell is going on i spend
so much money and cant get something done?.They choose for me a password and
the 9th of november 09 i had comcast tech over and he switch to google
chrome.
 
I read you rant, but I did not gather what your exact problem is.
Please submit a problem description and include a copy of any
error messages.
