why cant i send e mail with attachments from windows vista

What is the exact error message?

Try disabling the mail scanning feature of your antivirus program.

Hi all,

I have a similar problem when sending photographs. When I go into "Gallery"
and click on the photograph I want to send, then click on "e-mail" and the
picture size box appears. I select the size I want and then select attach.
The problem starts here because in the next screen I get the destination
appearing as where the photographs currently are. In other words I'm sending
my ptotos back to where they started, the e-mail screen does not open, just
the screen with my current address.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I tried your scenario and it worked correctly for me.
The only thing I can suggest is that Windows Mail may not have
all of its defaults.
Go to the Start menu, Default Programs, then
click the first item: "Set your default programs."
After a few seconds a list of programs comes up.
Click on Windows Mail. To the right you should then see
"This program has all its defaults."
If it has less than ALL of its defaults, fix it by clicking on
"Set this program as default."

Hope this helps.

Hi Gary, thanks for responding.

I followed your instructions as far as "Click on Windows Mail", I dont have
Windows Mail appearing in my list of defaults.

Is there any way that I can re-install Windows Mail WITHOUT formatting &
re-installing Windows Vista Home Premium?

Cheers for now & thanks again,

Alan.

There is no way to reinstall Windows Mail without reinstalling Vista.
I have no idea why Windows Mail is not showing up in your
list of default programs. Perhaps someone else has an idea
for forcing Windows Mail to register itself.
