can't seem to get an answer

Ok, what I am actually trying to do is configure patch management using
the automatic update client, and was advised to do this by linking a GPO
to a group. If there is a better way of doing this it would be much
appreciated. I can't simple apply the GPO at the domain level, because I
don't want it to apply to my member servers. And as far as I know, the
computer part of a GPO applies to computers, not users, so I would have
to apply it to the computer folder. If I do that I need a way of
organizing the computer folder into sub-OU's so i can seperate clients
from servers.

Short question: What does everyone do ??
 
I think that you would want to seperate computers and servers in different
OU's for this reason. Typically they are administered with different GPOs.
