Hi, I've just put some video footage from my video camera onto wondows movie
maker. when i try to play the clip i cant see the video and when i try to add
it to the video section of the storyboard, it adds it to audio instead. how
do i fix this???

What video type is it?
MPG's do not work well with Movie Maker and many other formats do not work
at all.
They would need to be converted to WMV or AVI to work properly.

not quite sure... the video camera is a sony DCR-SR80 HDD handycam. the box
says PAL too. apart from that, ive got no idea. does this help?

That camera saves the videos to the built-in harddrive as High Definition
MPEG2 video files.
MPEG2 files are not compatible with Movie Maker which is why you are having
issues.

From the documentation I read there is no firewire output on the camera,
which I guess makes sense since you normally shouldn't have to actually
"capture" the video, so you can't use firewire to capture to Movie Maker in
a compatible format.

You could try capturing via the USB connection but for best results if you
want to use Movie Maker to edit the videos you should convert the MPEG2
videos to WMV or AVI for editing in Movie Maker.
