Hi A friend of mine has the following problem.
His computer is running Windows Millennium and has had all the newest
updates applied including Internet Explorer 6.
He can not see the Address bar in IE to enable him to type in URL's.
It is ticked under View\Toolbar and I have checked to see if the Tool
Bar is locked but locked or un-locked does not make any difference.
Could somebody help as to how we can get it back as I am starting to
pull my hair out.
Thanks Tony

The address bar may simply need to be dragged open.
Try this: Unlock the toolbar. Look for the name 'Address Bar".
Left click and drag the left side of the address bar, to expose it.

I assume you have the address toolbar checked.
In IE under 'View > Toolbars > Address Bar'

If you see the smallest piece of the Address Bar (usually the name)
then stretch the Address bar back to a normal size and move it if
necessary. If the Button Bar or some other bar is to the right of it,
you may want to move that to a different position first.

Don't forget to ensure "Lock the Toolbars" is unchecked in
View-Toolbars.

A further fix:

"The Internet Explorer Address bar is missing"

You can get a .reg file that will do Method 2 here:
