Just recently (somewhere between the 10th and 15th patch
download) I lost the capability to rignt click a folder or
a disk in Explorer and have the properties of that folder
displayed.

I right click on the folder/disk, then click
on "Properties" and nothing happens!

cAN ANYONE HELP ME GET BACK THIS VAULABLE FUNCTIONALITY

Thanks

Recently, I noticed this problem on my Win2K Pro pc (Spack
2) I haven't added any patches. I have no idea what the
problem is.

I had the same symptom. I am running Windows 2000 Pro. I
had installed a new version of my fire wall, Zone Alarm,
and had ask it to block the windows web server service
from accessing the internet. This service was set to
automatically start up. It would try to start up but could
never complete starting because of the fire wall.

So I changed the setting for this service, WorldWide Web
Publishing Service, to manual startup instead of automatic
startup. Rebooted. After that, I can see file and folder
properties when I right-click.

That is intersting to hear. I never heard of that. But of course why install IIS if you plan not to have the Web Publishing Service running? A test I understand.
