Can't see photos or icons in preview pane or email

When i receive an email i cant see the photo in the preview pane like i use
to but only as an attachment. Or if it has logos and things which are .gif or
..jpg .bmp or similar i can only see the text.

Where the box/pic is it says right click box and when i do all the
photo/logos comes down.

Why does this not work automatically?

Correct. Outlook does not display attachments in the reading pane. If you
"used to" see this, then you "used to" use something other than Outlook.
Outlook Express, perhaps?

Because it's not meant to.

Brian is correct. This is a security measure so that you don't receive an
attachment with a virus or other malware embedded in it and accidentally
trigger it simply by previewing.
