when I try to view others' calendars to "invite attendees" or "plan a
meeting" I just get slash marks across their calendars

relatedly (?) keep getting a "cannot update free busy"

I've tried all the updates, hotfixes, etc. from MS web site

other ideas??

Did you follow the instructions here:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011477571033.aspx

Are you publishing to an ftp site or using exchange?

Also I just solved one problem we were having. I posted it, but here it is
again:

We use our ftp server to publish our free busy info. I was able to publish
and see some people's calendars but not this one person.

The path for the publish and search were the same:
ftp://ftp.server.com/%name%.vfb

It turned out that the %name% variable is case sensitive. In my outlook, my
email was set up as (note capitalization) (e-mail address removed), i.e.
(e-mail address removed). This was publishing the .vfb file as FrankLoyd.vfb.
However, when someone else was creating an appointment, they were entering
in my email address as all lowercase. When outlook went to look for
frankloyd.vfb it could not find it.

So I changed my email address in my outlook email account setup to be all
lowercase and republished my free busy information. Presto that worked.

The problem is that you are at the mercy of how someone typed in your email
address, and specifically how it is "remembered" in their outlook. Since
some people entered my email address themselves as all lowercase, outlook
was searching in all lowercase. But for others whose Outlook remembered my
email address from them replying to my email. It rememered my address with
the capitalization. I hope this makes sense....

Anyone know a way to make the free busy search not be capitalization
specific?
