I've got a franchise locations that cannot connect to a shared folder
on our central server. Here are the details.
Server: Win2k3 Server, all the latest updates
Client: WinXP Pro, all the latest updates
I connect the client to our VPN (Cisco VPN client 4.6) and I can ping
the server. I can also hop in run command and type in \\servername and
Explorer will come up, but it will say that there are no objects.
can map the drive that I need to.
I've tried:
1. Uninstalling/Reinstalling the VPN
2. Win Update
3. Calling the server by IP and by UNC
4. Logging in with my Administrator account to the VPN and to the
server (I can Term Serv into it)
5. I can see other network shares on other computers, even computers
that require data going through the VPN to see them, just not this
computer.
6. Modifying the HOSTS file to dictate that this specific IP address
is this UNC name
QUESTION: 1. Is there a way to say to clear what the computer thinks
this IP/UNC name is? -like clearing a network cache? 2. If that
isn't the case, what could this be? Any commands that could/would help
are much appreciated.
