Hi all,

I've configured a web server with Win2000 Adv. Server.
There are two LAN Cards (internal network/external network), and the
external is correctly configured (gateway, DNS, IP address and so on).

I have a public web site which runs correctly under IIS 5, to which I have
associated the machine's IP address.

The problem is that the machine and its web site are correctly available for
5/6 hours, then the web service seems to stop; to make it viewable once
again I have to restart the machine from scratch.

- The internal LAN works fine
- IIS is not stopped when I have this problem
- It is not a DNS problem as I don't reach the server via its IP neither
- I do not have to restart the IIS service, I really have to REBOOT the
server

I have verified anything and there are no configuration concerns.

Does anyone of you ever had the same kind of problem?

Please help me!

Thanks
Maurizio

What does this mean since you have two NICs and two networks.

5-6? 5 to 6 hours or almost an hour?

: then the web service seems to stop; to make it viewable once

What SP are you running and what other services are running on this box?

: - The internal LAN works fine

Which one? Internal or external? Is there a router involved or is the
server acting as the router?

: - I do not have to restart the IIS service, I really have to REBOOT the
: server
What is in the event log?
Is AD installed?
Is DNS installed?

Please explain this statement. You have verified everything or you have not
verified anything? Presuming the former.
: I have verified anything and there are no configuration concerns.

If there are no configuration concerns, can you please supply an ipconfig
all of the server just for the internal NIC?
