I have a Samsung ML-1510 Laser printer connected directly, by USB, to my XP Home PC, which is on a LAN with my childrens Win 98 PC's
When I try to set up "Print sharing" on my children's PC's, so they can print to my printer, its not visible on the network. ( my previous printers, all parallel port, have been visible and easy to set up).
Is this a problem with the printer being connected to the USB port??
I've tried typing in the port (e.g \\Dad's/usb001), but Win 98 says the printer is offline, even when i know its on and working!

any suggestions??

LOL yes... Print and file sharing is enabled on all the PC's.. sorry, i didn't explain very well.

As i said, with previous printers connected to my XP machine, we've had no problems.

I bought the new printer, disconnected the old one and removed it from the printer folder on all the PC's, then connected the new USB printer, installed the s/ware, and it printed fine from my (local) PC... i then tried installing the drivers on the childrens Win 98 PC's, but they can't even see the printer over the network.
