I just downloaded IE 6 and still can't see a website that
has multiple jpg's on it. I see the outline of the picture
with a red "x" in the corner. I have the pictures stored
on a website called "ofoto.com" but when I look on the
webpage where they are supposed to appear, just the "x".
This does not happen to me at home, only at work. IT
person doesn't have a clue. Any ideas?

I've seen this happen when the image in the HTML is on
another server other than that of the website. For
example, lets say I go to http://www.crammn.com and
the image in index.html references a different site
other than crammn.com. This will cause the red x to
appear.. I'm not sure how to stop this, but it's
probably in the security settings somewhere...

To turn on/off graphics and other goodies (with them off, browsing is
faster - good for dialup users)

1.. On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options.
2.. Click the Advanced tab.
3.. Under Multimedia, clear one or more of the Show Pictures, Play
Animations, Play Videos, or Play sounds check boxes.

Are you sure they are there?
What happens if you right-click Show Picture?

Very likely you briefly see the image placeholder
(same small box but with 3 geometric shapes in it)
and then you see the Red-X again.

To test that result further make sure that you have turned off
Show friendly HTTP error messages
Right-click, Properties; right-click on Address (URL):, Select All;
right-click Copy; then paste that URL into an Address bar and
press Enter. Do you see your picture now or an error message?
What does the error message say? (If it is HTTP 404 it means
that the URL is bad which in turn means that the Red-X is valid.)

This does not happen to me at home, only at work.

So the next step would be to figure out why the URL is bad.
Are they the same in both locations? Are the DNS in both locations
returning the same lookups? Have you tried using IP addresses
instead of the symbolic addresses? (Use nslookup in both locations
to check the IP addresses. Also doublecheck that the address which
nslookup is getting is the same that IE will be using--use ping to do that.)

Good luck
