I recently added a second (slave) drive to a W95B box. This drive came from a "retired" W95B
box as well (iow, compatible with the OS).

I can see it in BIOS (auto detected)
I can see/read/write the newly added drive D, from DOS (boot or command window).
I can see it in scandisk/defrag, and successfully run those tools
I can see it in Norton Disk Doctor/Speed Disk, and successfully run those tools
I can see it in System devices, and read its properties
I can format/label the drive
I can see it in AIDA32 (Logical Drives/ATA/SMART)

C: Local Disk FAT32 3824 MB (QUANTUM Bigfoot TX4.0AT)
D: Local Disk FAT32 3069 MB (Seagate ST33232A)

I can't see it in Windows Explorer.

Any ideas? I'm baffled...

Any chance that you have Tweak UI installed? It is possible in that program
to "turn off" a drive so that Windows Explorer doesn't display it any more.
For example I have two extra partitions on my systems -- S: which contains
the swap file and Z: which contains all the major files needed to re-install
the OS and patches like SP1.

Even if you don't have Tweak UI the mere fact that it can do what it does
shows that it is possible to stealth a drive or partition and that suggests
to me that if you were to download it you might be able to un-stealth the
drive from WE.

Just my $0.02 of course...

Bingo! Thank you, thank you, thank you...

I had set TweakUI to only show existing drives eons ago, and forgot all about it. The
stealthing point isn't lost on me, either. I had thought to myself, "Gee, I have a stealthed
drive, even though I don't want one." :-)

You made my day. Thanks again!
