Can't see CD ROM to install software

I inserted the office CD in CD drive, it didn't start automatically, I
neither could see it when i double clicked my computer. How to proceed to
install office. thanks for the help.
 
1st this issue has nothing to do with Internet Explorer.Do post the following so you can be helped or be directed to the proper newsgroup for help.

2nd: Describe your issue correctly by telling us that 1:) you cannot see the CD-ROM drive or that you see it but it does not read the CD disk inside.

3:) Windows Version with SP
 
I inserted Microsoft office 2003 in CD drive, nothing happened. than I double
clicked my computer but could see icons of hard drive and perhaps shared
documents but no icon of CD ROM so that i could try double clicking and
installing the software.
