Can't Search from Address Bar

J

John

Whenever I search from the address bar "? <search term>"
I get the error message "The page cannot be displayed."

In Preferences I have "Just display results in the main
window" checked.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks

I've got the same problem. If I type a URL into the address bar and hit
"enter" I get an error window (red x w/ msg "can not find <URL>") and the
page will not load. I can not access ANY websites at all through typing in
address bar. However, I can access ALL websites in my bookmarks file
folders. If I highlight a bookmark, the URL immediately loads. WHAT
GIVES?!? Any help is loved!!

Hi Qusjone -)

Try the following and see if it helps

Unable to search from IE6 Address Bar

Check the Registry to see if this file is there. Sometime during removal of
hijackers or spyware files in the Registry can get corrupted or removed as
well. If not, try adding this line to this part of the registry.

(watch for the wrap, it should be all on one line)

"E").
