Can't search for files on XP

After upgrading from ME to XP Pro, nothing happens when I click
Start/Search/For Files or Folders - even though I'm logged in as
administrator.

Can anyone tell me why?

Also IE won't open a page in a new window when I right-click on a link.

Why doesn't Search work?

Right click Internet Explorer icon | Properties | Advanced tab |
Uncheck:  Reuse windows for launching shortcuts |
Apply | OK
