Can't save or copy photos from IE

I used to be able to save and/or copy photos from the internet, but can't
now. FYI I am using a dial up connection via AOL. I think the change
occured when I installed the Windows Service Pack 2 update (via CD, not via
download). I'm not positive, but that's the only change I can pinpoint.

When I move the mouse pointer over a photo, I no longer get the toobar with
4 icons. I used to just click on Save and everything was fine. Now, no
toolbar, so I right click on a photo, and then I click on 'Save Picture As'
and it lets me do everything, but then when I go back to view the photo,
there is nothing to see.

It may be you have picked up a spyware or browser hijacking software. Try to
eliminate this possibility using
Lavasoft Adaware
Javacool's Spywareblaster
your choice of antivirus

Rehan, thanks for the suggestion, I thought it was a great idea, but it did
not solve my problem. I right click on an image, select save as .bmp, and it
saves it. But when I go in to My Pictures (FYI my old images are there and
work fine) it shows a generic thumbnail of what I just saved. However, when
I click on it, it opens the Windows viewer with a message "no preview"
instead of an image.

Help.

Thank you so much for attaching this information! It solved my problem very
quickly. I'll keep an eye on that Internet Options tab.

Take good care,
