Can't Save My Movie, Getting Angry

I have spent hours creating this movie of me and my friends. It is about 3
minutes long, has a lot of the "titles" add in after shots of movies, and has
a song playing in the backround. I try to save it as a movie so I can post it
on my website, but it does not work. The reasons stated do not make sense as
all my files are where they should be and MM can see them. I have WAY more
than enough free space. I am a little bit confused as to saving location, but
I am trying to save it in it's own folder so there should be space. I am
saving on the C drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated so I can go to
sleep before school in the morning.

I'm a novice, but try this - are you going to "save movie file"? It's more
than just saving the project you are working on - it actually changes it into
another file type. Once you hit that, you should have options that will
direct you as to where you want to save it (my computer, etc).

1. What are the reasons stated? - Is it 'cant save movie due to
isufficient space or missing files?
2. Are you saving as DV-AVI (try WMV)
3. Is the sound file mp3 - if so convert to avi using something like
windows media encoder....
4. Sometimes, if you have a lot of edits the complexity is very high.
This includes stuff you have edited then gotten rid of altogether - it
all adds to the mm project file. In this case I have had success in
copying the files to a new project - you 'select all' copy open the new
project file and paste. Then save the new file. You need to do this once
each for the video, music, titles and transitions.
I have experienced similar problems - usually when I have done a lot of
edits, even short movies can have difficulties. 2 and 3 have given me
the greatest success for the least effort.

Hope this helps

Eeyore is on the right track here.
It could be a filetype issue or it could be a complexity issue.
Filetype issue is more likely since with a complexity issue what usually
happens is that it tries to save but the time just keeps going up and in
your case it is giving an error message.
Take a look at the types of files you are using.
Movie Maker doesn't work well with MP3, MPG, and reportedly JPG files.
Convert these
MP3 to WAV or WMA
MPG to AVI
JPG to BMP
I use AVS Converter for video files:
www.avsmedia.com
I use Click and Convert for Audio Files:

Or for conversion info and other programs see this site:

Out of the blue, my "save as" options are all greyed out!!!!!! I am
****XXX88 out of luck, when finishing my movie. Any suggestions???? I have
used this program a million times. I use option 3 Finish Movie and
save my file to my computer, and use MY DVD to burn a dvd. HELP! PLEASE!!!
Thank you, hehe.

Hi Terri
Well since this apparently JUST happened take a look at any programs you
recently installed as one of them could be the culprit. You can then either
try uninstalling them one by one to see if that works or you can, as I would
do, use Windows Restore to restore your computer back to when WMM was
working properly.
