Have EEE1394 Card and use Microsoft Movie Maker regularly without major
issues. Attempting to save created movie to AVI-NSTC format as I've always
done in the past. But it won't work now and every time I attempt to save I
get Movie Maker "has encountered a problem and needs to close" with an error
report. The file size I am attempting to create is only 330 MBs and I have
lots of room on my drive storage. Also, it does successfully save on all wmv
file formats but I need to save avi. Can't understand what is occurring.
Any thoghts?

Try this to eliminate the possibility that the DLL used by DV AVI encoder is
correctly registered. Some video related applications incorrectly mess it
up.

Execute the following line on Start -> Run dialog:

regsvr32 %windir%\system32\qdv.dll

It should result in "RegisterServer succeeded in qdv.dll" message.
Afterwards restart WMM and try capturing.
