Playing the game Journeyman Project Turbo, I don't seem
to be able to save, so every time I "die" I have to
restart from the very beginning!! When I try to save
a "SAVE AS" box pops up with a path set up for the CD
drive (I don't have a burner). I can change the path for
the c: drive and it seems to save, however when I try to
use the saved game, again a window showing the cd drive
pops up, and when I try to change the path for the c:
drive I get the following message: MCI Error Cannot find
the specified file. Make sure the path and filenames are
correct. (they are) The screen then goes black and must
do CTL ALT DEL to end the pgm and get the msg "chose to
end the ;nonresponsive program NTVDM.exe" I have tried
the compatibility wizard (just makes the video work
wierd), can't find patches anywhere.

Hi Liz,

Look for a file with the extension .ini in your Journeyman Project Turbo
game directory. Save a copy of the file, open it with notepad, and see
if you are able to change the default path from the CD to your C: drive.

Hi Jimmy
Thanks for answering.
I can't find any file with a .ini extention in ;either
the program folder or on the cd. All that seems to be in
the folder are the manuals, an outdated web page link,
and the main executable program. Perhaps related to all
of this maybe that I can play the game only if I run it
from the cd. If I try to play the game from program
files on the c drive, I end up with the window saying
that the cd was not found. When I enter the correct
path, the message keeps reappearing!

Hi Liz,

It sounds like you need to reinstall the game to fix the pathing.

Here's how to properly install or reinstall a game (and patch):

Step A: Temporarily disable Startup programs one at a time, starting with
Firewall, Antivirus & AdBlockers using this method:
http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=331796 or this utility:
http://new.jtsoft2001.com/windows/startup.php Reboot, go to
Step B.

Step B: In Control Panel / Add-Remove Programs, delete the game and then
the game's folder especially if you previously experienced
problems
with a patch, or if you installed the Trial, Mods, NO CD
patches, etc.

Note: Click Start to Search or Find your game. Many times there are two
installs
of the same game on a system and the patch installs to the wrong one. Also
if you
installed a Trial version of the game, this could be causing a conflict..
Uninstall it
and delete the folder.

Step C: Install and Run Regcleaner and if it finds any stray registry keys
for the
game, delete them. Reboot your computer, and then re-install
the game.
Regcleaner Download:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download460.html

Step D: Play a single player game, using an administrators account if
necessary.

Step E: Download new game patches or mods in case the old ones are
corrupt.
Double click the patch/mod to install it. If it's a .zip
file, unzip it into the
game's folder and follow the instruction in it's readme.txt
file.

Step F: Reboot your computer, verify that your game is working properly,
and
re-enable any programs that you disabled using the method in
Step A.

Cheers,
Jimmy S.
