can't save certain web pages

When I try to save certain web-pages to the local disk I reproducibly
get the error "The Webpage could not be saved to the selected
location".

What can be the reason for this? It's certainly NOT any diskspace or
connectivity issue. I rather suspect this to has to do with the
complexity of certain pages or maybe with certain JavaScript elements
or something of that sort. It usually happens with pages, that have a
certain complexity (i.e. several frames and misc. navigational
elements).

In these cases one can not save the page using the formats "Web Page,
complete (*.htm, *.html)" nor as "Web Archive, single file (*.mht)"
while saving as "Web Page (HTML only)" and "Text File (*.txt)" works
fine.

Any ideas? Can this somehow be "tweaked"?

I have no idea if this will help, but try it anyway ...
Check the Security options under the advanced Internet
Options tab and see if unchecking the "Do Not Save
Encrytped Pages to Disk" helps. This little gem has
caused me some of the most bizare behaviour (eg) no view
source available on secured sites etc ...

good luck

Thanks for the hint but:
No, that option was not checked in my configuration.
