Occasionally someone sends me an email with an attachment they think is cute
and expect me to open it. With my other machine, I always save it to file,
scan it for viruses, then open it. I just began trying to do the same with
my new machine running XP but each time I attempt to save a file, I get this
message from Outlook 2000:
"Outlook cannot save the URL to a file. Can't find this file. Make sure the
path and file name are correct."
Perhaps it has something to do with what I'm being sent; the other party
appears not to be reasonably new to computing. Ranther than simply sending
me the URL as a hyperlink, she appears to be sending elements of a webpage.
In any event, I can't save them and I don't want to open them without
scanning them.
Does thins have something to do with the XP operating system? I don't recall
ever having this problem on my 98SE machine.
