Can't run setup for IE6 Sp1

I'm running Windows 2000 Pro, and downloaded IE6 SP1 from WindowsUpdate. IE6
Sp1won't install. I have tried everything suggested but to no avail. I hope
I have the right group.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

have you tried booting in safe mode and then running the install?
