Can't Run "Remote Assistance" xp sp3

When I try to access "Remote Assistance from my program directory, it
comes up but with a windows dialog box that reads "A program Could Not
Start. Please try again" I have used remote assistance with a friend
just once before when I was on sp2 and it worked, I have not tried it
until now. Not sure if it is sp3 problem or not.

I have tried turning off the firewall,SB S&D no luck

The 'program which will not start' may well be Terminal Services. Check in
services.msc to see if this is set to Manual or Automatic. If it's Disabled
then that is your problem.

Though, I tend to use VNC for remote assistance as it's far less hassle than
the Microsoft approach.

Thanks, but Terminal Services is set to manual and is started.
